Most of us are familiar with Pelican hard cases. They’re the ubiquitous solution for protecting expensive gear while traveling whether around town or around the world. Well, there’s a new player in the game out of Texas. Condition1. One of the key selling points is the many configurations they provide with pre-cut foam. This is a huge timesaver and eliminates the frustration and unclean results that many of us get with dealing with pluck foam.
You have a myriad of choices when it comes to finding the right case to suit your needs. I’ll admit, though, that I struggled a little finding mine and ended up having to settle just a bit. While there are 2-4 gun options as well as all gun and all magazine pre-cuts, I was disappointed that the 3-gun offerings limit the number of mags to just 6. So that’s only 2 mags per gun plus one in the gun. At the end of the day, I decided I could live with this. The other factor to be aware of is that the lid organizer is only available on smaller cases. I’d love to have the 3-gun in the 18- or even 20-inch case to have more open storage for ear protection, notebooks, etc.

The lid organizer provides three good-sized storage areas which are perfect for holding eye protection, pens/pencils, foamies, etc. They provide a great way to keep everything well-organized and readily available so you’re not wasting range time digging through pocket after pocket like I do today with my large bag.

As you can see, the case has a small open area. This barely fits my Walkers Recon ear protection. However, I have the Bluetooth Walkie Talkie which I have to remove and store in the lid organizer. Otherwise, it fits small items you want readily available that might not fit in the organizer pockets.
Since there are only six magazine slots, I use the top two for gun1, followed by two for each additional gun.

The pre-cut insert provides a firm, snug grip on the pistols. The optics don’t cause any issues either.
Overall, I think this is a well-made case which make range trips less cumbersome and more convenient. Coupled with a small range bag for items like tape, stapler, small targets, ammo, etc. trips can be much more smooth. It looks good at the range and still leaves room to move around.
